Two teenagers were victims in a shooting at Dry Creek Middle School in Littleton, Colorado that was carried out by an adult male Tuesday afternoon. So far, the media is not sure if the shooter is a twenty-something or a forty-something, but he was said to be wearing camouflage pants.

Authorities say a female student sustained a gunshot wound to the chest. The other victim, a male student, was shot in the arm. The seventh-grade math teacher who tackled the suspect, David Benke, is a 6-foot-5-inch former college basketball player who has taught at the school for about 10 years, his wife Sandra Benke, told KUSA-TV. Other teachers quickly piled on the gunman, the station reported.

In reviews, we found the Kia Sorento to be un-able to be outclassed in terms of all-around polish. Its great fuel economy, impressive brakes and carlike ride makes it in touch with what most people want and expect from today’s midsize and compact SUV market. It is simultaneously as comfortable on-road as crossover competitors. With it being such a great bargain choice, you can’t miss the 2010 sorrento.

Jack Brisco The Wrestling Legend Dies At 68

Jack Brisco Dies at 68

Jack Brisco Dies at 68

Young and talented, Jack Brisco was one of the most popular and successful wrestlers of the 1970s and 1980s. The Oklahoma native gained fame, respect and various titles throughout the wrestling world due to his hard-working attitude, professionalism, and most importantly, a vast knowledge of wrestling maneuvers including his famous trademark “Figure Four.”

The fans loved him for his youthful good looks, sportsmanlike approach to the sport, and his overwhelming skill inside the ring. Promoters loved him because he drew big crowds (especially during his two NWA World title reigns) and because of his professionalism. Other wrestlers liked working with Jack because, quite simply, he was one of the best wrestlers in the business.

whatever the cause of Jack Brisco death, we should give a high honor for his lifetime achievement in wresting. Just to remember what Jack Brisco had, he was a 2-time NWA Heavyweight Champion and also formed a well renowned tag team with his brother Gerald.

In the old days, for the most part, “good guys” were “good guys,” with relatively uncomplicated names and personas. It doesn’t get much more straightforward than “Jack Brisco.” He was a regular guy in regular tights fighting all these evil dudes in sheik costumes and masks and what not.

OK, big confession, I had a Planet of the Apes “astronaut” doll, who, when stripped down to his blue doll underwear was a proxy for Mr. Brisco. So, there. I played with dolls. But it was guy “rasslin’” dolls and not baby dolls or anything like that. I mean, who hasn’t launched Luke Skywalker from the top of a bedpost to (hopefully) land on The Joker? I know I have.

J.D Salinger Dead

J.D. Salinger Dead: 'Catcher in the Rye' Author Dies At 91

J.D. Salinger Dead: 'Catcher in the Rye' Author Dies At 91

The Greta Garbo of literature,” died yesterday of natural causes at his home in Cornish, New Hampshire. He was 91. The celebrated author chose to spend the last half-century of his life in virtual seclusion, guarding his privacy with such fervor that he only succeeded in fanning the flames of public curiosity.  As Paul Alexander put it in his book Salinger

Jerome David Salinger was raised in New York and began writing fiction as a student. The New Yorker rejected seven of his stories before finally publishing one just before the US entered World War II and Salinger was drafted.

The Catcher In the Rye’s protagonist and narrator is Holden Caulfield, a disaffected 17-year-old who, in what was slightly revolutionary for its time, talked (and narrated!) like a disaffected 17-year-old. The book pretty much just follows Caulfield as he wanders around New York after being expelled from prep school. Salinger acknowledged that the novel was semi-autobiographical, and his ability to channel the internal monologue of a bright-but-alienated kid made the book essential reading for generations of high school students.

Salinger soon moved on to what he considered his life’s work: the Glass family. The half-Jewish half-Irish brood of brilliantly precocious children (“the Glasses were a bunch of insufferably ’superior’ little bastards that should have been drowned or gassed at birth” is how Buddy Glass paraphrases a popular criticism) who all grew into impossibly fucked-up adults were the subjects of everything else Salinger wrote while he was still publishing.

Mr. Salinger’s literary representative, Harold Ober Associates, announced the death, saying it was of natural causes.

Published in 1951, “The Catcher in the Rye” became Mr. Salinger’s most famous work with its distinctive depiction of its angry, iconoclastic teenage protagonist, Holden Caulfield. Mr. Salinger frequently dealt with the subject of precocious youth in his short stories of the Glass family, as well as “Franny and Zooey,” a collection of two long short stories. He had not published a new work since 1965, and lived in near-total isolation, having refused the attention of the literary world and the news media for decades.

nancy Kerrigan’s Father Dies, Brother Arrested

Nancy Kerrigan’s drunken brother kills father

Nancy Kerrigan’s drunken brother kills father

Emergency crews were sent to the home Sunday morning where they found Nancy’s father, Daniel Kerrigan, unresponsive. He was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

As for Nancy’s 45-year-old brother Mark KerriganMyFoxBoston.com reports that during the Sunday incident, there was a struggle between Daniel and Mark in the kitchen area of the home. Details of the fight are sketchy at best — but Mark was eventually arrested and charged with assault and battery on an elder with serious bodily injury.

Mark Kerrigan is scheduled to appear in court sometime this morning.

Nancy — who is married with 3 kids — lives roughly ten minutes from the home where the incident occurred.

The incident comes almost 16 years from the morning she was attacked in a plot orchestrated by skating rival Tonya Harding.

Wife Brenda Kerrigan told the Boston Herald it was nothing but a heart attack, but that certainly doesn’t mean there was “nothing suspicious about the death.” It’s to be expected that a mother would protect her child in this circumstance. Unfortunately, it doesn’t take CSI to make the connection between Mark Kerrigan’s drunken bum rush and Daniel Kerrigan’s demise. Oh, and Brenda Kerrigan is legally blind.

“He put his hands around his father’s neck and his father fell to the floor”

And authorities also say that Mark Kerrigan thought Daddy Daniel Kerrigan was “faking it.” Perhaps the blood on the floor and the shattered telephone (a la Joe Pesci to the head in “Casino”) should have been clues. It may have been a beating worth of Jeff Gillooly (Tonya’s stooge) on Nancy Kerrigan before the 1994 Olympic Games. They may need payday loans to replace the telephone is what I’m saying – but then again, I’d never exploit tragedy for the sake of business.
