College World Series Fans Setting Up Too Early

There has always been a fierce rivalry going on between UCLA and Fullerton. Well in the end UCLA took the lead and won the match that took them to the College World Series. The match was very exciting because both teams had many opportunities to avail in order to grab the win but UCLA turned out to be the one that took full advantage of every little edge that they encountered against their rivals. UCLA exploited many weaknesses of the opposite team as well. This took them closer to the victory and this way the match turned out to be a dream-come true for the team. Fullerton on the other hand did have many opportunities to turn things around for themselves but didn’t seem to use them or recognize them very well.

The momentum for the College World Series 2010 is picking up. So far 5 teams have qualified for the NCAA World Series. There are just 3 more teams left to qualify.

Florida became the first team to qualify for the NCAA World Series 2010, defeating Miami in two games. TCU eliminated Texas to reach the 2010 College World Series, and ULCA ousted CS Fullerton.

South Carolina and Florida State made to the series by defeating Vanderbilt and Coastal Caro respectively during the weekend. There are 3 more matches remaining between the following teams.

Virginia Vs Oklahoma

The winners of the above three matches will reach the College World Series 2010.

NCAA Men’s College World Series baseball tournament will be held at Rosenblatt Stadium in in Omaha, Nebraska from 19th June to 30th June, 2010. Country music singers Julianne Hough and Bucky Covington will perform on the stage of college world series road to Omaha Jam on 18th June, 2010 at 6.00 pm.

With four national championships and 23 appearances in Omaha, it’s one of the most storied programs.Over the past two years, however, the Gators have blossomed from a second-class citizen to top dog in the state.

Boise State University Joins Mountain West Conference

Mountain West Adds Boise State, Joins Conference Expansion Fray

Just a few days ago, the Mountain West’s presidents decided they would hold off on expansion until the conference saw how things were going to shake out in the Big 12. But with that picture growing a little more clear — Colorado to the Pac-10 and Nebraska to the Big Ten — it was time to make a move.

The Mountain West may not be done adding members if the Big 12 can’t hold it together. The MWC could well pick up orphaned Big 12 members Kansas, Kansas State, Iowa State, Baylor and Missouri.

The Mountain West Conference has officially confirmed the addition, with conference president Craig Thompson releasing a statement saying:

We are pleased and excited to welcome Boise State University to the Mountain West Conference. Since our inception just 11 short years ago, the Mountain West has experienced tremendous success, and the addition of Boise State will further enhance that strength. The MWC continues to strategize regarding potential membership scenarios and bringing Boise State into the Conference is an important part of that evolution.”

“The invitation to join the Mountain West Conference reflects the excellence that Boise State University has demonstrated academically and athletically. It will be a privilege to compete and partner with such a successful group of member institutions. This move is in the best interests of Boise State’s future, and the university is excited to be part of one of the nation’s most outstanding conferences.”

And so it begins for the Mountain West in what will almost certainly be the first of many additions they make in the coming months. As mentioned earlier, previously the Mountain West had decided to wait on expansion, but they have reversed course in roughly a week.

The announcement is part of a massive conference shuffle nationwide, where leagues like the Pac-10 have lured Colorado and Nebraska seeks membership in the Big Ten.

Boise State has also dominated the WAC, compiling a 49-4 record and winning three WAC titles in four years under Bronco coach Chris Petersen.

Thompson said Colorado’s Pac-10 jump on Thursday was the catalyst for the Mountain West to move quickly to grab Boise State.

He added there’s still discussion among Mountain West university presidents on whether the league should remain at 10 schools, or expand to 12 or even 16, to boost its BCS chances.
