Lindsay Lohan sues, claims E-Trade baby is based on her

The actress filed a lawsuit yesterday in Nassau County Supreme Court over the commercial, which debuted during the Super Bowl this year. In the ad, a baby boy apologizes to his girlfriend via video chat for not calling her the night before.

Lindsay Lohan is reportedly suing the financial company E-Trade, insisting that the company’s new commercial about a boyfriend-stealing, “milkaholic” baby — who happens to be named Lindsay — was modeled after her. Lohan reportedly wants $100 million, The NY Post reports. Lohan’s lawyer, Stephanie Ovadia, told the newspaper that the actress has the same single-name recognition as Oprah or Madonna.

Now, it is widely held that no enduring solution to ’society’s most threatening social, economic and political problems can be found without the full participation and the full empowerment, of the world’s women’.

The New Tenants wins the Best Live Action Short Film award at the 82nd Academy Awards More at Oscars 2010

The New Tenants has won the award for the Best Live Action Short Film at the 82nd Academy Awards. American director Gregg Helvey’s 19-minute film “Kavi”, about a young boy who wants to play cricket and go to school, but is forced to work in a brick kiln, lost the best short film, live action Oscar to “The New Tenants”.

Joachim Back and Tivi Magnusson walked away with the award for telling the story of a prying neighbour, a glassy-eyed drug dealer, and a husband brandishing both a weapon and a vendetta in “The New Tenants”.

Roger Ross Williams and Elinor Burkett bagged the short documentary Oscar for ‘Music by Prudence’, while Nicolas Schmerkin got the best short animated film award for ‘Logorama’.

The venue of the 82nd Academy Awards is the Kodak Theatre. In this eventful evening, many winners have already been announced. ‘The Hurt Locker’ won the award for the Best Original Screenplay, where Christoph Waltz won the award for the Best Supporting Actor. Director Pete Docter has also picked up his very first Oscar for the animated flick ‘UP’ which won the Best Animated Film Award at the 82nd Academy Awards.

The 2010 Oscars will be hosted by Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin. Oscars 2010 date and time is set in the first quarter of the year. Celebrities throughout the film industry will gather at the Kodak theatre for this honorable ceremony which is thought to be the most prestigious award for an actor, director and the film itself.

Oscar 2010 award ceremony will be held on Sunday, Mar 7. Each and every year people not only from the world of cinema but also from other walks of life wait anxiously for the date and time of the Oscar Awards. This year has been no different. Oscar’s ceremony will begin at 5PM PT or 8PM ET. The nominees have been set for the categories and all wait is now for the final declaration of the award winners.

Tonight’s Oscar ceremony marks the 82nd year of the Academy Awards. Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin are going to be teaming up to host the Oscars. This is the first time that Baldwin is going to be hosting, but he’ll have the experience of Steve Martin on his side. Martin has hosted the big event three times before. The Oscars will be held at the Kokak Theater in Los Angeles.

This year the competition on all the categories seem to be tough. For the best leading actor category, the five nominations are Jeff Bridges for “Crazy Heart”, Morgan Freeman for “Invictus”, George Clooney for “Up in the Air”, Colin Firth for “A Single Man” and Jeremy Renner for “The Hurt Locker”. While Morgan Freeman has already received accolades and award for his performance in the film, he gets a tough competition from other nominees, especially “Crazy Heart” leading man Jeff Bridges. However as the countdown has already begun for the ultimate date and time of the Oscar 2010 curtains to go up, everybody is crossing their fingers for their stars to win.

Among the actors and actresses that have been nominated for their work are Morgan Freeman, George Clooney, Matt Damon, Sandra Bullock, Meryl Streep and Jeff Bridges, who has apparently been put down as the favorite to take home the Oscar for Best Actor this year.

Michigan Central Station also known as Michigan Central Depot , built in 1913 for the Michigan Central Railroad, was Detroit, Michigan’s passenger rail Station from its opening in 1913 after the previous Michigan Central Station burned, until the cessation of Amtrak service on January 6, 1988. At the time of its construction, it was the tallest rail station in the world.

The building, located in the Corktown district of Detroit near the recently demolished Tiger Stadium and the Ambassador Bridge about 2 miles (3.2 km) southwest of downtown Detroit, still stands today, though it remains unoccupied. It is located behind Roosevelt Park, and the Roosevelt Warehouse is situated next to it. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1975. Restoration projects and plans have gone as far as the negotiation process, but none has come to fruition.

Restoration of Michigan Central Station is seen as an important project for the economic development of the City of Detroit.

Hannah and Masons is a BYOB restaurant located in a charming old house on Main st. in Cranbury and fills the void of fine dining restaurants between New Brunswick and Princeton. The decor is rustically romantic, and is cozily situated in three cozy dining areas with polished wood floors, soft toned walls, dim lighting, and white liinen.

Executive Chef Chris Posner, a 1996 Culinary Institute of America graduate serves up, creative dishes with fresh ingredients. Hannah & Mason’s is open for lunch Monday – Friday, 11:00 AM – 2:30 PM, and for dinner Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings with a menu that changes frequently.

H&M’s used to charge high-end fine-dining prices, but the service and food really didn’t warrant it. When our main courses came, there was a “plate auction” (Who ordered the pork?), silverware wasn’t replaced, etc.

On Saturday, they threw a “Farmer’s Market” on Main St. to relaunch the newly-redecorated restaurant with a new, simplified menu with a “Farm-Fresh” concept. The new menu’s most expensive item is the same price as the cheapest main dish on the old menu.

Tom Hanks promptly apologized for his slip-up on live TV. When the conversation turned to Sunday’s Oscars, Ripa said, “Oh well, I guess you didn’t win last year.”

Actor Tom Hanks was on Regis and Kelly show today and guess what. Tom Hanks mistook host Kelly Ripa as Kathie Lee. Nothing serious happened though. Everything went fine as movie star quickly apologized.

How many mistakes can you count in Tom Hanks’ appearance on Regis & Kelly? We’ve got Tom calling Kelly “Kathie Lee,” Regis not knowing what “engaged” means, and Tom missing a trivia question even though the answer is “Tom Hanks.

Danny Gokey on American Idol Top 20 Results Night

Danny’s debut, My Best Days was released on Tuesday. On iTunes, it is currently #5 on the overall album chart (down from a #3 peak) and #2 on country.

Danny Gokey’s back, performing My Best Days Are Ahead of Me. It’s good to see him on this stage singing a song that he’s intimately familiar with, that’s perfectly suited for him. It’s a good, solid performance, and I’ve got to think his casual fans from last season that haven’t really heard this song on country radio will be pleased to discover it.

Danny relays his story about Randy Travis recommending him consider a career in country and says that conversation set him on his path to Nashville. He also says that he just found out that one of the writers of My Best Days Are Ahead of Me also lost his wife and wrote the song just few months afterward. Danny says he latched onto the song without ever knowing the story.
