Michelle Wie of the United States poses with the trophy
Michelle Wie won her first LPGA Tour title, the fulfillment of the promise of a decade with a 3-under 69 on Sunday for a two-stroke victory over Paula Creamer at the Lorena Ochoa Invitational.
Wie finished with the victory in style, hitting a green side bunker shot to 6 inches at the 18th hole, and then press for a birdie.
“It’s completely out of my back,” he said. “I think hopefully life will be much better but still have much work to do”.
The 20-year-old Wie raised his arms in the air – is placed in his right hand – and put her hand over her mouth. After throwing the ball outside the hole, turned to the gallery, looked skyward and let out a deep sigh of relief.
Wie jumped several times and keep pumping his right fist and again. After all the expectations that his long wait had ended.
“Woww-ww …… never thought I would feel this great !!!!” she posted on his Twitter account.
Solheim Cup colleagues Wie Morgan Pressel and Creamer rain, 18 green after winning side.
“Just seeing out and pouring beer on me, it was a fantastic feeling,” said Wie. “I’ve always seen on television, and I’ve always wanted people to pour beer on me. It was as big as I thought it was”.
His parents, father BJ and Bo’s mother, there was a hug.
“I think it’s so cool to see them on the 18th hole and embrace them,” said Wie. “You know, we’ve been through a lot as a family and is so large that they are here to share my creation and I do not minimal, so good.”
Pressel (67), Jiyai Shin (71) and Cristie Kerr (72) was three back. Wie finished at 13-with 275 after starting the day at the Guadalajara Country Club tied for the lead with Kerr at 10-under.
Wie first qualified for a USGA event at 10 years and played an LPGA event when he was 12 he joined the LPGA this season and has started to show games that have been boiling it, probably the biggest attraction in women’s golf.
“Now he feels great,” Wie said. “It’s fantastic year. I went through some ups and downs … And of course, this tournament is the icing on the cake.”
Dressed from head to toe in red, Wie had some shaky moments, but was more stable in the final stretch of his rivals failed. In the past, often been in Hawaii, he has encountered.
The 6-foot Wie was on top, despite a nagging left ankle injury, forcing her to wear a big black brace that extends from 6 inches above the top of the shoe.
Wie had chances to leave in the first nine holes, but could not, and finished with a 2-in 34 to 12 in the tournament. He went to 13 with a birdie on the 11th, giving him a one-shot lead Creamer and Kerr. Wie bogeyed the next hole when his flight shot under some trees and a suitcase full hit, the ball bouncing in the street behind her.
But he made two to 17
Creamer, Wie was paired with an eagle at 10 However, two bogeys down the stretch ruined their chances of victory.
“I gave him a chance, and Michelle played great,” said Creamer, who has battled stomach problems for a year, and fought back and thumb injuries. She is, after eight years without winning victories in the race.
“I feel much better with my golf,” he said. “It is unfortunate that you are so close, but you’re so far away.”
The co-leader after three rounds, Wie, Kerr was at level par front nine, reaching 12 with birdies at 10 and 11 After 12 holes, was Wie, Creamer and Kerr bound, but faded with bogeys Kerr in 15 to 16
Shin, rookie of the year, also fell. Tournament host Ochoa shot 69 to finish Six Pack and Ai Miyazato, No. 2 on the money list this year, finished 10 back after 72 of a
Ochoa and Shin fight next week for the player of the year award in the LPGA Tour Championship in Houston, the last event of the season. Ochoa has won the last three years, but Shin leads the points race.
Shin tries to become the first woman to win two titles, since Nancy Lopez in 1978.
The LPGA, as economic difficulties and the forced resignation of its commissioner this summer, this should be as much as Wie.
“Literally, when Michelle Wie is on top of the ranking is like night and day, and is a star,” LPGA spokesman David Higdon said the day before the victory of Wie. “That’s all it is. This is some people want to follow. You see it in his presence, the way they walk around. The way people talk.”
Wie playing PGA Tour events since she was 14 – the biggest stage there is. She was criticized at the time, not focusing on women’s events. She turned professional in 2005, even before finishing high school.
He ignored the criticism and at 16, was ready to become the first woman to qualify for the men’s U. S. Open before his putter failed him.
Shortly after he began to lose confidence and the greatest attraction in women’s golf has entered a long and painful crisis which was aggravated by a wrist injury that ruined his 2007 season.

When it’s game, flies upward units and better and better on the greens. Wie has finished second twice this season and has two third place in the LPGA Tour.
