John Hughes Death
John Hughes The Late writer, director and producer has received a rare special tribute — that his fans agree was well worth the validation of their work.
John Wilden Hughes, Jr. was an American film director, producer and writer.Hughes died of a heart attack on August 6, 2009, while walking in Manhattan, where he was visiting his family.He was 59 years old. On that morning, Hughes was on West 55th Street in Manhattan when he was stricken with chest pains.
There are several reasons why this is true, but here are some that I consider most important. As the author of a new book on Hughes and his films (among others), I have spent the last few years immersed in the world ofJohn Hughes , interviewing people who worked with him (including actors like Molly Ringwald, Matthew Broderick, Anthony Michael Hall, Judd Nelson and Ally Sheedy) and loved it. And through this process, which was largely completed at the time of his death reminds me again and again, asJohn Hughes .
These films have changed the way Hollywood produces and sells teen movies, but more than that, they did a great sociological impact, changing the way many young people think that all the love and friendship to sex, regardless of class , fashion and music.
He scripted some of the most successful films of the 1980s and early 1990s, including National Lampoon’s Vacation; Ferris Bueller’s Day Off; Weird Science; The Breakfast Club; Some Kind of Wonderful; Sixteen Candles; Pretty in Pink; Planes, Trains and Automobiles; Uncle Buck; Career Opportunities ; Home Alone and its sequel Home Alone 2: Lost in New York.
Several director’s trademarks can be seen within Hughes’s films:
* Set in fictional Shermer, Illinois, as represented by the North Shore suburbs of the Chicago metropolitan area.
* Characters breaking the fourth wall (acknowledging the audience)
* Additional scenes under and/or after the closing credits
* Non-linear montages
* Strong emphasis on pop songs and music cues
* Freeze-Frame at the end of the movie
