The Who are an English rock band formed in 1964. The primary lineup consisted of vocalist Roger Daltrey, guitarist Pete Townshend, bassist John Entwistle, and drummer Keith Moon. They became known for energetic live performances including the pioneering spectacle of instrument destruction. The Who have sold about 100 million records and have charted 27 top forty singles in the United Kingdom and United States with 17 top ten albums, including 18 Gold, 12 Platinum and 5 Multi-Platinum album awards in the United States alone.
The Who rose to fame in the UK with a series of top ten hit singles, boosted in part by pirate radio stations such as Radio Caroline, beginning in January 1965 with “I Can’t Explain”. The albums My Generation (1965), A Quick One (1966) and The Who Sell Out (1967) followed, with the first two hitting the UK top five. They first hit the U.S. Top 40 in 1967 with Happy Jack” and hit the top ten later that year with “I Can See for Miles”. Their fame grew with memorable performances at the Monterey Pop and Woodstock music festivals.
The guitarist was arrested in 2003 in Britain as part of a child pornography sting but later cleared. He accessed a Web site containing child pornography but said it was for research for his own campaign against child porn.
That doesn’t satisfy some children’s advocates.
Still, Townshend says: “I kind of feel like we’re all on the same side, I guess that’s all I can really say.”
It was announced that The Who band will rock the Super Bowl 2010 during half time. And it actually did. The Who lead singer is Roger Daltrey while the guitarist is Pete Townshend. They performed songs including Pinball Wizard, Teenage Wasteland, Who are You and Won’t get Fooled Again. Do you like the wayThe Who rock the Super Bowl 2010? Online shopping provides consumers with many benefits. Many people have discovered the advantages of online shopping and hence, prefer to use this mode of shopping to buy their goods. This explains why there is an increasing number of people using online shopping. At times, besides being able to obtain their goods faster through shopping online, they can get their goods at prices lower than those offered by physical retail stores.
I can’t stand Justin Bieber. Maybe its the fact that he’s 12 and has little talent and he’s wealthy. I don’t know, it makes me loony to think that so many teens are obsessed with him.
